Nuwara Eliya - නුවර එළිය

As this area lies above 1868 metres above the sea level it is more misty and colder than the other areas of the country. It is a city situated in the hil county of the central province, Sri Lanka.
Nuwara Eliya is famous for the tea production of Sri Lanka. Apart from the tea plantations, Horton plains National Park, Gregory Lake, Sita temple like many places are there to visit in the area.
How to get there
- By train
Nuwara Eliya does not have a train station. You have to get down from Nanuoya which is about 10 km away from Nuwara Eliya and get a taxi or a bus from there. Nanuoya is connected to Colombo through Colombo - Basulla main railway line and it will take about 7 hours to get there from Colombo. I recommend you to take the train as the route is so beautiful and you can take a lot of nice photos there too.
- By bus
You can take the buses from Colombo to Hatton and Kandy. Bus ride is quicker than the train. But the bus ride is a bit bumpy.
